The first child Enrico Ventimiglia and Guarnerio Ventimiglia were the only governors of Alcamo before 1398. In
the 1397, at the death of Frederick III, as his daughter was under age,
the soveregueity of Alcamo was given to four deputies, among whom there
was count Francesco II of Ventimiglia. In 1392 there was a conflict
between king Martino I and
Enrico Ventimiglia to defend the Pape’s Bonifacio IX authority. This
conflict ended with the victory of king Martino I, who was supported by
the Alcamesi, infact the people of Alcamo struggled to free themselves
from king Enrico Ventimiglia . But after the reconciliation between king
Enrico Ventimiglia and king
Martino I, king Enrico of
Ventimiglia conquered Alcamo again. So on 8th February 1396
Enrico Ventimiglia, after swearing to king Martino I and Queen
Maria D’Aragona, obtained Alcamo ‘s territory and many
privileges too.
