Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins does not believe the heated |

exchange he had with the Carolina Panthers' Eric Reid diminishes the
impact of his fight for racial and social justice.Jenkins Solomon
Thomas jersey , the face of the Players' Coalition, and Reid, a
former member, shouted at each other during and after the Eagles' 21-17 home
loss on Sunday.Reid branded Jenkins a "sellout" after the game and said he
"co-opted the movement" started by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin
Kaepernick because the group of players has chosen to work with the NFL to
further its cause."What happens on the field or whatever headlines, that (work)
doesn't stop," Jenkins said Friday after the Eagles completed their final
practice prior to a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday.
"There's been work all across the country in so many different areas and by so
many players that an incident like that, it might grab headlines and it might
grab the attention of what people want to report, but the work that we do has
never been contingent upon what we do."Right now, the big focus is on voting and
getting people out to the polls this November and we continue to do that. We've
got people doing PSAs, writing op-eds, getting involved with the issues in their
local markets, and so no, I don't think it's a distraction at
all."Reid Authentic

away from the coalition a year ago in part because of its support from the
league. The NFL plans to commit $90 million over the next seven years to further
social causes.Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman, a member of the
coalition, responded on Thursday to Reid's comments, saying he does not
recognize that the group is "making true changes" with its advocacy.Jenkins, who
chose not to address Reid's comments after the game, said he was not aware of
what Norman said but was proud he expressed his support publicly."The support
most likely comes because everything we're doing is not just me," Jenkins said.
"Obviously, I think as kind of leader, my face gets put out there and my name
gets repeated over and over again, but it's a coalition for a reason."There are
guys all around the league that are doing work, whether directly or indirectly,
because of us Youth

of. I think Josh is obviously one of those guys that is happy to be a part of
the things that we're doing."49ers haven’t lost on Monday Night Football since
2010 The San Francisco 49ers are set to face the Green Bay Packers on Monday
Night Football, marking their first Monday appearance since 2016. If history
says anything, the Monday prime time games have been kind to the 49ers. They
haven’t lost a MNF game for almost a decade regardless of the false hope the
wins may have inspired. The last time the 49ers were on Monday Night Football
was in 2016 to open their season under Chip Kelly. The 49ers blew out the
then-St. Louis Rams in a game that indicated a lot of promise and possible a
turning point in their fortunes after a season of mediocrity. The 49ers would
win one more game in 2016. This isn’t the first MNF game to give false hope
either. The season prior to that, the 49ers opened up their season in much the
same way under their new head coach Jim Tomsula. The 49ers would win a very
sloppy game against the Minnesota Vikings (one I consider one of the worst
football games I’ve been subjected to), but still ease some of the anxiety
caused by Jim Tomsula replacing Jim Harbaugh after the team “mutually parted
ways” with the latter. The team again would won four more games and looked awful
doing everything. So awful, Tomsula was dismissed after only one season. Things
weren’t always inspiring false hope. Prior to the Tomsula game, the 49ers played
their last game in Candlestick Park against the Atlanta Falcons under the bright
lights. This was the infamous ‘Pick at the Stick’ where NaVorro Bowman picked
off Matt Ryan in the 49ers red zone and took it to the house. The play gave San
Francisco the win and sent them to the playoffs, while bidding farewell to the
‘Stick. Beyond that, MNF brought some statements and ushered in eras. In 2012
Colin Kaepernick made his first start as 49ers quarterback against the Chicago
Bears, thumping them to the tune of 32-7 and starting a quarterback controversy
that led to Alex Smith’s benching and the 49ers appearing in the Super Bowl. In
2011, the 49ers would stomp the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-3 making heads turn and
analysts accept the once-misfit 49ers as legit playoff contenders. The last time
the 49ers lost a Monday Night Football game? 2010 against the New Orleans
Saints. A last second field goal would seal the deal 25-22 as the 49ers would
open the season with five straight losses and eventually fire Mike
